Obituary of Donald Larry Dubuque

Dubuque: Donald Larry, a resident of Thamesville, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice surrounded by family on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the age of 76. Born in Chatham, son of the late Vince and Antoinette (King) Dubuque. Don retired in 1998 from the County of Kent after working for 33 years in the Roads Dept. His retirement was filled with looking for the perfect bargain at a yard sale or finding a missing piece at a toy show to add to his John Deere collection. Beloved husband of 54 years to Kathy (Houben) Dubuque. Don will be forever loved and missed by his daughter Barb Miller and her fiancé Darin Shuian. Best grandpa ever to his two greatest treasures, Jillian Nash (Pete), and Jake Miller. Don will also be missed Darin's sons Zach (Rachael), Josh, Dalton, and Tanner. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Bernice Sinclair (Wes Martinek), Lee Dubuque (Jean), Clifford (Jeannine Parsons) and Rosalie Dubuque. Predeceased by an infant son Dennis (1973), and brothers Lyle and Raymond. Don will be missed by Kathy's 8 sisters and their families, and many nieces and nephews. The Dubuque family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Wednesday from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. At Don's request please dress casually for the visiting and funeral mass (No Suits and Ties). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Thamesville on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Cremation to follow. Interment in St.Paul’s Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated. Online condolences and donations may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com A special thank you to Dr. Sullivan, Jon-Ann Meko, Kayla Thompson, Chatham-Kent Hospice, and the London and Chatham Oncology Departments for the exceptional care they provided Donald.
