Obituary of Larry Wilson

Victor “Larry" Lawrence Wilson, a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the age of 79. Larry served as a police officer for the Chatham Police department in the 60’s and 70’s where he enjoyed 'walking the beat’ in downtown Chatham, and making memories by helping people, and 'offering hugs instead of hand cuffs'. Larry shared stories of his time with the police department with his grandchildren and great grandchildren up until his last day. Born in Chatham Township, the son of the late Terrence and Carrie (McIntyre) Wilson. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (McCann) Wilson. Loving father of Terry (Cidalia) Wilson of Wallaceburg, Jack Wilson of Chatham and Brenda Konecny (Dan) of Belle River. Cherished grandpa of Chrissy, Cory, Matt (Nelinha), Jennie (Kurtis), Jeff (Kelsey), Stephanie (Ian). Loved great grandpa of Miale, Addison, Sophia, Avery and Peyton. Predeceased by a brother Michael and a sister Blanche. At Larry's request there will be no visitation or funeral service, cremation has taken place.  If desired, donations may be made to Chatham- Kent Hospice Foundation or join his family at the 2019 Hike for Hospice on Sunday, May 5, 2019.
