I am very saddened to hear of Carol's passing. It doesn't seem that long ago that Carol and her sister Susan and I were children playing together. Our mothers were sisters, and although Carol's family lived in Chatham and we lived on a farm near Appin, our families got together fairly often in our younger years, especially at Christmas and on St. Patrick's Day.
During some summer vacations, Carol and Susan would come for a week to our farm and we would have riotous fun playing in the barn, visiting the tree house my brother David built, catching toads, and running free.
Other summers, I would go to their home in Chatham for a week in the "big" city, or to go with their family to Rondeau beach or to a cottage in Sauble Beach.
We all grew up, had families, and saw each other less often, but those earlier times will reside in our hearts and minds forever,
Carol was fun, personable and kind, She is gone much too soon, but will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
My sincere condolences to Rob and Susan and their families.
Lois Ruedi.
