Dear Michelle and Family. Sooo sorry to hear of the sudden passing of our friend Zack. As an Arkona Lions Club member, he rose to the position of Cabinet Secretary-Treasurer for our Lions District A-1 (Southwestern Ontario). He was the main organizer for the activities of our 50 Lions Clubs and my right-hand Lion. I will always be grateful for his help and friendship. An awesome man who will be sorely missed. I extend my condolences in the passing of Rick. I worked for Rick approaching 10 years and in that time he was many things to me including a friend, boss, confidant and mentor. He was always a gentleman and cared so much about “his guys”, people and the community. He spoke so warmly about his family. His wife and children were so loved by him. When you work closely with somebody you do get to know things. As local business persons go, this area has truly lost a pillar. I might have never become involved with the fine people and organizations I did if it were not for Rick. The safety village, members of the police service, builders and construction associations, etc. I met my now husband John Sanderson working for Rick. I am thankful to say I could call Rick a friend. He will forever be admired and missed.

Who would have thought the last time we spoke at the Grand Opening of the new gym at Eben-Ezer Christian School would be the last time we spoke "in person". We e-mailed often as I work at Southwestern Construction with Phil. My husband Rick and I enjoyed watching Rick's outstanding performances with singing and acting in several local plays. I remember the first time watching him perform and was gob smacked by his singing AND acting, comedic talent!!
I have dealt professionally with Rick for over 20 years, I know how passionate and kind he was and loved his family very much as he spoke of all of you often.
This man truly will be missed in the construction business community and our local community at large. He was a gifted man in many ways!
It is our prayer that you feel the hugs that surround you and feel the comfort that only HE can give. You have been and will continue to be prayed for.

I have some amazing memories! Michelle & I went on vacation together many, many years ago and that is where she met Rick. I also met my husband (now my ex) on the same vacation so we definitely got our moneys worth to say the least. Standing up in their wedding was so much fun & the day absolutely flew by. I also remember visiting Michelle & Rick one sunny day and I was expected to go out for dinner with my future hubby for the first time since the vacation, however, Michelle & I may have had a few too many - let me just say, lamp shades never looked so good :)! and since I had passed out - Michelle & Rick graciously whipped up some hot dogs for our romantic evening. I love you both and Rick will be sadly missed.
