Nora was an important and beloved friend of the Smith family from Wardsville and London. From my grandmother Margaret Smith, her children Evelyn and Bob, through to Evelyn and Bob's children, we all knew and loved Nora. We admired her loyalty, tenacity in the face of hardship, her laugh, gardens, quilting, canning and the artistry she brought to her world.We always thought that the social life of Wardsville and the enduring friendships of that community were to be admired - much of it involving or because of Nora. My kids grew up with quilts made by Nora and grandma and my grandkids have the warmth and enjoyment of Nora's quilts. Mom Evelyn and I had enjoyable times with Nora exploring the backroads around Wardsville and sharing family history. Lunch at the Palace was always part f the adventure. A true friend and someone to be emulated- always loved and remembered.
