Obituary of Dolores "Dolly" Simmons
Simmons, Dolores “Dolly” Gwendolyn (Lomax), age 88 of Dresden, passed away peacefully on Sept. 11, 2019 at Riverview Gardens, Chatham.
She was born in Halifax on Sept. 14, 1930 to Richard and Hazel (Stillman) Lomax. Dolly took great pride in her work as a registered nurse and worked many seasons at the “Canners” in Dresden. Dolly was predeceased by her husband, Sydney, in 2004.
Surviving Dolly are her five daughters: Deb & Doug Deline of Dresden, Jan & Mike Meloche of Wallaceburg, Donna & Jim Fraleigh of Dresden, Linda and Gary Gilbert of Chatham and Rhonda & David Hodges of Dresden, eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Dolly will be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and very good friends.
Visitors will be received at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre 679 North St., Dresden, on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. A private family funeral will be held at a later time. Interment in Dresden Cemetery.
