Van Goethem: Rene, a resident of R.R.#3 Bothwell, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the age of 74. Born in Belgium, son of the late Reguul and Margaretha (Van Overloop) Van Goethem. Rene had retired from Rockwell. Beloved wife of Janey (McGaffey) Van Goethem. Loving father and father-in-law of Brian Van Goethem (Daloni) the late Bob Van Goethem and daughter-in-law  Sarah Van Goethem (Maurice). Proud Grandpa of Ivan,Troy, Kirsten, Kael and Scarlett. Dear brother-in-law of Bill Hamilton. Loving uncle of Cindy Hatfield (George), Randy Van Goethem, Karrie Cumming (John), Kent Hamilton (Karen), Kristie Grozelle (Dave). Also survived by a great niece Amy Kennedy (Brent),a great-great- nephew Hunter. Predeceased by brothers Julien and Frank Van Goethem and sister-in-law Pam Hamilton. At Rene's request there will be no visitation or funeral service, cremation has taken place. Family and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Rene's Life at the Bothwell Baptist Church Hall, 280 Peter Rd. N. Bothwell on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or the Glencoe Animal Shelter would be appreciated. Online condolences and donations may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, Bothwell.
