Wilson, Gerald Cecil passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham, with his family by his side on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Born 93 years ago on November 6, 1926, son of the late Mabel (Walker) and Morley Wilson of Wabash. Predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy (Wilcox) in 1997. 

Cherished by his children, Brenda (Tim) Walsh, Bruce (Pat) Wilson, Betty (Allan) Hubbell, Bonnie (Joe) O'Neill, and Brian (Beth) Wilson. 

Adored by his grandchildren and their partners, Lindsay Walsh, Brin (Erin) Walsh, Elizabeth (Christian) Hubbell, David (Hali) Hubbell, Erin (Anthony) Fiore, James (Trisha) Wilson, Ryan (Emily) Wilson, Stephanie (Eric) McConnell, Courtney (Eric) Veldhuizen, Bronwyn (Greg) O'Neill, and Jenna Wilson. Forever missed by ten great grandchildren. 

Sadly missed by brother and sisters, Helen Hooper, Mildred Huffman, Bert Wilson, and Mary Ellen Harrison. Predeceased by brothers-in-law Vaughn (Tic) Hooper, Ken Stirling, Jack Huffman, Merrill Harrison, Glen Wilcox, Neil Brown, Bill McGeorge, sisters-in-law Lenora Wilson, Leola Wilcox, Alma Brown, and Geraldine McGeorge. Also fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. 

Gerald was a lifelong farmer, dedicated to the stewardship of the land. He enjoyed many spring seasons hosting family gatherings in his sugar bush. He was a member of St. John's Botany United Church for many years. Gerald was happiest in his retirement with a project on his workbench. He was the family's go-to guy for repairs and restorations, taking meticulous care with every project. 

The Wilson family will receive relatives and friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Friday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mayhew Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Those wishing to leave an expression of sympathy are asked to consider, by cheque, the VON or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
