Mary Louise, Brian &Linda, Karen, Trudy and family....with great sadness to hear of Lee’s passing but truly happy for his good long and healthy life. Many good memories are etched in our minds of good Ole “country” living which only comes with good friends and neighbours. Lee and his family are definitely part of these. Reading one of the comments of picking stones then going to Jack McLennan’s for pop and chocolate bar brings back great Oakdale memories. I can still see Jack’s smile at the shop and will remember Lee for his big smile also.
Your in our hearts ❤️

A good heart has stopped beating; a good soul ascended into heaven. Mary Louise, I am so sorry Lee is no longer sharing his smile with the world. You and Lee were Howard and my favorite couple. How we enjoyed our times together, especially the summer we had dinner and attended a John Deere play in Port Dover. How I loved watching Howard and Lee with their heads together talking farming. I can now picture them both in heaven......talking farming. I assure you of my prayers and silent presence in your sorrow and grief. Fondly, Millie and Howard in spirit.

Sincere sympathy to Mary Louise & her family on the passing of Lee. He was a great guy who loved his farming. I didn't get to be neighbours of Mary Louise & Lee as Leslie & I were married on the same day, Aug.1,1953 & we lived north of Brigden. Mary Louise, do you remember that we met you & Lee coming out from breakfast in Kincardine on Sun. Aug 2 as we were going in, 2 young, newly- wed couples going north for our honeymoons. Lots of changes since that time, especially now with this terrible time when we can't get together to comfort each other. My thoughts & prayers are with you & all the Butler family. Marie Sheppard

Our condolences to Mary Louise, family and friends of Lee.It was only a few days ago I stood at the dining room window and waved to Lee and Mary Louise and residents enjoying their meal. A smile and a farm story or one of him playing cards and being darn good at it, always brightened the day. It brings joy remembering how a sweater brought Lee warmth and comfort during the bitter cold winter days. Lee always embraced life, may the stories and memories shared between family and friends bring comfort and a smile. So sorry for your loss. Greg and Norine McFadden

Dear Mary Louise - Lee was my first friend in Canada. I remember how he taught me to play euchre; to till the garden, and how he shared his chair when I had none. He told me stories about people that I did not know but I loved to listen to his memories. Know that, with tears in my eyes, I will miss your Lee.

Aunt Mary Louise, Brian, Linda, Karen, Tim, Trudy, Mark and families, since we can’t be together at this time I thought I would share some memories with you: one is that when I was little Uncle Lee took me to the barn with him and to keep me busy he let me hammer nails into a board- apparently I placed them every two inches the whole length of the board. I also remember a wedding reception we were at - I was likely somewhere around 12. Uncle Lee joined us on the dance floor for the song “Rolling on the River “ Did he ever have the moves! And one more - we used to pick stones for Uncle Lee on a farm on the twelfth - he paid us a quarter but also took us to Jack McLennan’s garage for a pop and chocolate bar and that was a REAL TREAT. As you know I spent a lot of time at your house and have many fond memories.
