Josh, Katey & Kelly and to all relations of Dennis, I just learned of Dennis' recent passing and we are desolate. Dennis was a big happy guy, larger than life! His family most important to Dennis. We felt like family when with him. He was so down to earth and friendly. We were lucky to be a small part of some of the happiest times of our life with Dennis especially doing the major renos to the Layla cottage. Dennis was congenitally funny to be around or work with. We often worked doing renos together like a big happy family in Port Stanley. Often we would watch the sunsets after work on the beach before he headed home. Dennis "loaned" us Josh, & Ryan came along. ennis was a huge influence on them and taught the boys a great deal about life, work, loyalty and family. We were so happy to see Josh when he returned from his travels and see how happy he was to be home. Josh stayed at our place just to re-connect and painted the house! He always looked forward to spending time with his dad. We have missed Dennis since he moved back home to Dresden some years ago but we knew he was happy in Dresden. We stayed in touch. He called out of the blue and chatted or sent an email. We know he was so happy to spend time with his family and friends, & was in love with Kelly! Dennis loved children and they loved him. He just loved being a grandparent and being happy to enjoy a simple uncomplicated life while having the 2nd love of his life beside him. We all will miss Dennis - our hearts are broken. Josh to you I say your dad's light shines very brightly within you! Tell all the grandkids "remember when" stories about Dennis. To them he must have seemed like the Friendly Giant of a grandfather! In peace Hamoody, Sharon, Sanaa, Merwan, Layla Hassan and all our relations & all the folks at Hassan Law & Shoreline who feel the same as us! .

Was sent a photo from our hockey Atom team a few weeks ago bye Paul Bellamy. First thing I thought of was Dennis, for some reason I remember his as Goober??? So I looked at picture and his name was there, he was absent from photo. Wasn't many people I was afraid to mouth off to when I was a kid - but Denny Bear wasn't not one of them, he was respected by all the young lads on the team. Was saddened to hear the news.
