I met Doris many years ago when I started practicing in Thamesville. She was one of my first patients and we appreciated her support and loyalty. She was a kind soul with a witty and wry sense of humour which I took great delight in. I am saddened to hear of her passing. She was a pillar within the community and will be missed by many. Condolences to the Swain Family. I first met Dori in 1982 . She was one of the caretakers of the TAMC. From her vantage point across the parking lot she was also the unofficial security guard. We had many good chats in the early days and she would go out of her way to see that everything was always OK. She was one of those individuals that every community needs to help things look good and run as smoothly as possible. Gord McDiarmid

Dory was a long time and and very committed member of the Thamesville Horticultural Society. She tended a garden just down the street from her home. It commonly became known as Dory's Garden and will be remembered as such for a long time to come. Dory had a way with young people and encouraged them to get involved in horticulture.
