Obituary of Eileen Gladys Katool

Katool: Eileen (Ruegg), a resident of Thamesville, passed away following a brief illness at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the age of 86. Born in Fort Erie, the daughter of the late Alfred and Iva (Sumerville) Ruegg. Eileen was an active member of the Thamesville Sertoma and La Sertoma. Predeceased by her longtime friend and companion Sid Tripp (2010) and son Frankie Katool (2009). She is survived by her children Katherine Haugh (Luc) and Patrick Katool (late Janice); grandchildren Courtney Bilton (Andrew), Brooke Moffatt, Victoria Veiledal (Jesse) and Nathan Katool; great-grandchildren Benjamin, Charlotte, Max, Leah, and Nolan;  siblings Audrey Kayfish, Irene Burdon-Murphy, Ruth Campbell, Bill Ruegg (Genevra) and David Bauer. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. At Eileen’s request cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Eileen’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Thamesville Sertoma Club, 104 Railroad St.,Thamesville.  Those wishing to make a donation are asked to consider the Thamesville Sertoma Club (c/o Box 344 Thamesville ON.
