Mr Winter was always a favourite patient of mine for his regular visits a LHSC as he would share stories about his family and farming. He always had a joke to share with his infectious laugh and a positive mindset for the tricky days. Patients we see year after year become friends. Mr Winter was exactly this. He was a friendly and familiar face to see every few weeks and will greatly missed by myself and our department.

Jim will be missed by many, but not by as much as the three of you - his children. There will be times when you think you haven't heard or talked to him in a day or two and need to visit or pick up the phone to chat with him. Then realize that he isn't there or he isn't going to answer. They are all normal actions but take comfort in knowing that he is still with you. His memories will never leave you. Speak his name often and share those family stories with your children and each other. Many people have traveled this path before you of losing a parent, reach out to them in times of unknown, everyone grieves different. I'm here anytime for you guys! Love you all Carol
