I have known Matt for many years as an employee at Canada Business Services and then his involvement at the Boardwalk condos. I met Matt at the Chatham Kent Metal Detecting Club in June of 2016. We became instant friends.
We metal detected Tecumseh Park all the time. It was amazing, we always found lots of cool stuff. One time I remember looking up to see where Matt was and he was just a speck across the park. Two minutes later he was right in front of my face. I said, " Did ya find something good?" He said, "No, you have someone really sketchy behind you. I wanted you to know I have your back." No one has ever said that to me. Matt was my body guard.
We both shared the love of metal detecting and going to thrift stores. It was an adrenaline rush to find something good. I truly loved Matt and I'm really going to miss him.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of my friend Matt. I was truly heartbroken to hear of this loss. He was always so kind and helpful to me whenever I needed a hand. I have many memories of Matt as an avid customer at the Video Movie Shop. Every so often we would run into each other and reminisce and talk about movies.

Matt and I worked together for 8 years and we talked and laughed almost every day back then. We shared a lot of the same interests and just grocked each other. He had a sharp wit and a keen mind and we could always get each other laughing. Goodbye buddy. Condolences to the family.
