Dean Jean and Family, please accept my belated condolences on the passing of Richard.
I was in Ridgetown Monday afternoon and at around 5pm decided to drop in at Ridgetown Village to say Hi to Richard. Only to find out that he had passed away.
Getting home in the evening I found out that I had missed the funeral earlier that morning. If I had know, I would have been there.
Sarah and I enjoyed the dinner times with you and Richard in Blenheim, as well as the farm and business discussions I was able to have with Richard, and the occasional sing along that he also seemed to enjoy. As well as the cookies and grapes, and yoghurt.
Richard was proud of his history with the Ridgetown Fair and other farm activity as well as 4H, and was especially proud the accomplishments of his Grandchildren. He loved taking about skating.
Again, I'm sorry about your loss, but I'm sure that Richard leaved good memories and is now at a much larger fair and banquet than he ever experienced in Ridgetown.

Jenn has so many memories of visiting the farm over the years. In particular, we recall bringing the kids one day and seeing the pride with which your dad introduced them to the cattle and cattle farming. So sorry to hear of Richard's passing. What a beautiful obituary. We had so many good times with Richard and then with Jean as well. Right from the time we travelled together on the Junior Farmer travelling scholarship together. I know Doug and Judy would be welcoming him to his eternal home. So many good laughs come to mind but also how mischievous he was and especially the time he got up in the night, at one of our reunions, and ate the last butter tart that was suppose to be for me. Aunt Jean and family,
Please accept our sincerest condolences on Uncle Richard's passing. Uncle Richard was a kind and loving man. As an uncle, he taught me how to both help out a little with work on the farm but also showed me how to enjoy free time on the farm as well as on the beach in Rondeau. We will remember him with love and will forever be grateful that he was part of our lives.
