Peter was a true cowboy, horseman and a great friend. My grandfather, Don McLean owned the Hidden Meadow Stables at the same time Peter & Ronnie had The Flying Dutchman. We would ride our horses to each other's stables for entertainment and story telling. I will always cherish the lessons and storys from Peter. R.I.P. Our condolences to his family.

Peter was a true Horseman. My Dad and Peter had many horse deals over the years. The one thing I remember most was Peter and Rae performing "Tip Toe through the Tulips" at Quarterama. What a Show it was !!

Dear Jackie, Tom and Tony,
I was sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. What a legend and lovely man he was. As a kid, I cannot tell you how much I treasured getting to stop at the Van Eerd’s when we were in the area. Getting to bask in your dad and your family’s warmth, energy and humour was always deeply treasured. There was always an adventure to be had. Your dad would joke with us, challenge us, and just generally be his engaging and loving self. He and your mom were always wonderful to my mom and my family. Sending my condolences to you and your families. Take care, Michelle Amlin

Sorry to hear of Peters passing. He was a nice guy who had plenty of stories of which he was the main star. Loved talking to him at the horse shows back in the seventies.

On behalf of the Ionson Family we pass on our heart felt condolences to Peter's Family. I just had some super 8 film put on a memory stick and there was Peter in 1959 at my Mom and Dads horse sale in Clarkson, (it sure looked like him !)
Peter and my Dad & Mom, Roy and Joan Ionson worked together and i remember Peter in the late 60's and early 70's being at our farm. Peter was always a great Horseman and one of the best this Province has seen. I still remember Peter performing "Tip toe through the tulips" at the Free style Reining at Quarterama bringing the full house to a huge ovation ! Peter was a showman both Western and English.
The life that Peter lived back in those wonderful early days of showing Western Horses in Ontario was really something to witness as a young boy. Not till i was much older did i realize how special Men like Peter were.
God bless you Peter Van Eered and your family. We have all lost an entry in our arena and Heaven has gained his entry fee.

To the family of Peter, I have many great memories from the time Peter was a resident at Heritage Court in Dresden. He attended many of the Sunday worship services and Bible Studies at the residence during the years he was a there. I also fondly remember the many one-on-one visits I had with Peter when he told me many of his life stories. The one line he always said when handing out the song books before the services was, "Do you have any with pictures." Unfortunately, I lost touch with Peter when Heritage Court closed its doors. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.

Jackie and family.
Thinking of you in the sad loss of your father.
We got to know him many years ago when he was in the hospital for quite a while
at the same time as my mother.
He livened up the continuing care floor with his fun personality.

What a beautiful tribute to a legendary horseman you can be so proud to call “Dad” - I never get tired of George reciting stories about his childhood and Peter - each and every “older” horseman/woman can share stories about Peter and every story has its own lesson and or humorous spin and was enjoyed by each! That sparkle in his eye though!….. our heartfelt condolences to his children and loved ones. Hugs and ❤️ from us

Dear Jackie, Tom, Tony & Families,
Our deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your father, Peter.
He has joined other special people in his new journey.
We couldn't help admire the great pictures displayed, especially
Peter, the Cowboy, and how he resembles the singing Cowboy, George Strait.
We personally have witnessed his horse expertise as Horse Whisper, amazing!
Wishing you Comfort and Peace in all your beautiful memories.
