Obituary of Barbara Ann Osterhout

OSTERHOUT, Barbara Ann (McGaffey), passed away peacefully with family by her side at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on Sunday December 7, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Strathroy she was the youngest daughter of the late Roy and Barbara McGaffey. She was the beloved wife of the late William John Osterhout (1995). Loving mother to Shannon Osterhout (Lee Jackson), Sherry Clifford (Osterhout) (2018), Sheila Osterhout (Steven Squires), and John Paul Osterhout (Lue Ann). She will be dearly missed by her 16 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren, Mom will be dearly missed by her sister Betty Horst (late Ralph), Art McGaffey (late Velma), predeceased by her brothers Alan McGaffey (Helen), and Glen (Pug) McGaffey (Noreen). Her life long best friend Sylvia Meredith (late Lee). She is survived by many nieces and nephews who affectionately knew her as Aunt Joe. 

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Pope, Dr. Bond, Dr. Miller, and Dr. McIntyre as well as the wonderful hospital staff fourth floor who cared for our mother in her final days.

The Osterhout family will receive family and friends at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, 211 Elm St W, Bothwell on Wednesday December 10, 2025, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held in the chapel Thursday December 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Interment Bothwell Cemetery.
