Obituary of John Russell Marvin Kelly

Jack  was born and raised in Bothwell,  son of late Olive (McDonnell)  and Marvin Kelly, he was a much loved father, partner, grandfather, son and brother passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Victoria hospital at the age of 92. Jack spent his career working 39 years at Union Gas company and enjoyed his  work very much. He retired from his job but never retired from telling stories and having a good laugh and telling a good joke…. he enjoyed his life of retirement for many years, had many hobbies, playing golf was his love, but his true pride was spending time with family and travelling with his loving companion Carol  aka ( Betty Grable,..) and of course shopping at the “bins”!!. Grandkids loved him dearly and couldn’t wait for Christmas at his house on Paul…so many laughs and great memories…He loved all kinds of music , including the bagpipes. Was a great singer to many! He loved sports played shortstop for baseball and he loved watching the blue jays…. and columbo.  He was loved by many, his door was always open. He had such a positive outlook on life, and lived each day to the fullest. He is survived by his 3 children, Kevin, Mark, Danielle (Mark); his loving companion of 45 years, Carol Cochrane; his 7 grandchildren, Deryl,(Tara) Kaitlyn, Jason, Jennifer, (Matt)Lindsay (Chris) Spencer (Alison) and Tanner (Crystal ); his 5 great-grandchildren, Jack, Dax, Ellie ,Peyton, and Bohdi; his siblings, Helen (Wally), Liz (Carl), Joan (Late John), MaryLee (Bob), and Junior (Cathy). Predeceased by brothers Ken (Carol), Ted (Gerry, Cathy) sister Kathleen (Bob) and Donna. Loved by many nieces and nephews and cousins. Jacks favorite phrase ….”ya gotta take what life throws at ya”. Jack’s wishes where to be cremated. The Kelly Family will receive family and friends at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, 211 Elm St., Bothwell on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 12:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:30 PM.  Following the service everyone is welcome to join the family for a luncheon at the Bothwell Legion.  Donations to the Barac ( Bothwell Area Recreational Advisory Committee), Bothwell Legion or Four Counties Health Services Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
