Obituary of Tom Dixon
On April 7th, 2026, Thomas Harold Patrick Dixon passed away at the Riverview Gardens Nursing Home in Chatham. He was predeceased by his brother David Dixon and his two sisters, Ruth Howe and Bonnie Stewart. Loving father of Krista Goodwin (Mike) and Mike Dixon (Marnie). Very proud grandfather of Madison, Kendra, Maia and Lily. He recently celebrated his 83rd birthday on St Patrick's Day with his standing order of a Quarter Pounder and a Tim's black coffee.
Tom was an avid sports fan. Loyal to his Detroit Tigers and Red Wings but his bigger passion was for our local kids particularly the Chatham Maroons/MicMacs. He rarely missed a game and started volunteering for them as a goal judge, then he moved to the penalty box where he was the time and scorekeeper. Once his health began to fail, he contributed by selling 50/50 tickets and programs But that wasn't enough. He then decided to make photo buttons of the players to sell and began writing a weekly newsletter for the program. He was inducted into their Volunteer Hall of Fame in 2003 after 21 years of volunteering.
He worked his whole life at Fram/Siemens. Well respected by his peers for showing up everyday even when his health was declining. He retired after 30 years and then turned his attention to his granddaughters sports. He loved watching them play baseball and ringette. Nothing made him smile bigger than those girls hitting a homer or making a great catch! He was often seen around town riding his "Harley" scooter likely to one of their games.
Cremation has taken place with a private family service to follow at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to the John C. Badder Funeral Home, Thamesville
