Obituary of David Nicholas Markowski
Markowski: David, a resident of Thamesville, passed away suddenly at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Wallaceburg on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at the age of 81. Born in Windsor, son of the Late Nick and Mary (Chickowski) Markowski. Dave had worked for many years as a crane operator and had owned and operated Dave's Backhoe Service. He enjoyed playing darts and was part of the Diggers team at the Legion. Dave loved to hunt and fish and made many trips north moose hunting. He knew all the special spots on Lake Erie for fishing and was known to have a fish fry or two. He spent many hours in his shop at the table of knowledge, and "loved to have a quiet one". Beloved husband of the Late Jean (Labadie) Markowski (2025). Predeceased by his son Dan Markowski (1985). Dear brother-in-law of Tony Nieuwenhuizen, Phil Reaume, Bob Labadie, Vie Moore, and Mary Markowski. Lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Steve, and sisters Gladys and Emily. The Markowski family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 12:30 PM until 1:30PM. Burial will take place at Mayhew-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville.
