Obituary of Henry Arthur Marchand
Marchand, Henry Arthur: Surrounded by his loving family, Henry passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in his 80th year. A resident of R. R. 6 Dresden, he was born in Grande Pointe, son of the late Theophile and Louisa (Laprise) Marchand. He farmed all his life in Dover and Camden townships. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He was a member of St. Philippe Hunt Club in Killarney, Ontario for many years. He was a charter member and past president of the Wabash Sportsmen Club, where he participated in trapshooting for most of his life. Henry had a passion for fishing and spending summers on his boat in the Erieau Marina, where he was always eager to share his fishing stories and just enjoy life. Beloved husband of Yvonne (Bechard) Marchand. Loving father of Don & Annette Marchand, Rob & Heidi Marchand, John & Lynn Marchand and Annette & Paul Dhaen. Cherished Pepere of Christina, Erin, Kate, Victoria, Andre, Eric, Emily, Brooke, Matthew and Allison. Dear brother of Gloria Reaume and Mae Salenbien. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Norb Marchand and sisters Clara Horne and Laura Donais. The Marchand family will receive friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre 679 North St., Dresden on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated from St. Michael's Church, Dresden on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Ray Lawhead as celebrant and Fr. John Betkowski as co-celebrant. Interment in Dresden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the funeral home to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CT Scan) or the Dresden Community Healthcare Foundation.
