Tom and Janice, Jim and Mary Ellen and families, Your Mom (and Dad) were always special to me. We go way back before you were even born. So many visits with my parents at the farm. I'll always remember the salmon sandwiches your Mom would make after a night of the adults playing cards. They were delicious but your Mom wouldn't start them till late and , as a kid, I would wonder when they would be ready for eating! In later years, I always connected with her as a fellow teacher too! Tom, Jim & Families: Once in a while there are people that come into our lives that leave a lasting impact. Mrs.Hands was one of those people. She was a very special teacher and had a way of believing in you and encouraging you to use your talents and abilities. I have always thought of her with great respect and grateful for the life long impression she left on me. In one of our visits together, she said to me, "you can call me Marjorie" and I said I know but you will always be Mrs.Hands to me, and I know I am not alone in feeling this way. I only know Marjorie as Mrs. Hands, my Grade 6 teacher. She is by far one of the kindest, most positive, and encouraging human beings I’ve ever known. She is one of the reasons I became a teacher, and someone who I have always looked up to. She will be greatly missed. ❤️

I was so saddened to hear first of Mrs. Hands' illness and now of her passing. She was a wonderful teacher who influenced so many. Any student that had her is a better person for it. She was also a wonderful neighbour to us. My condolences to you all.
