Obituary of Joan Bernadette Rickman

Rickman; Joan Bernadette Heaven gained another angel on Thursday, April 4, 2019, with the heartbreaking passing of Joan Bernadette Rickman at the St. Thomas Elgin Hospital at the age of 83. Born in St. Ann, Jamaica on September 15, 1935, daughter of the late Lester & Ivy Diedrick. Predeceased by her best friend and husband Donald Rickman (2013). Cherished mother of Rick (Tina), Mike (Laura), Jeff (Sue). The highlight of her day was when the Grandchildren & Great-grandchildren would frequently visit her. They loved seeing her smile when they brought her timbits & flowers. Family always enjoyed celebrating special occasions with her often. Survived by her siblings Babes (Irma) Gorzynski (Florida), Denny (Everard) Diedrick (Cayman Islands), Eliese Cox (St Lucia), Carol Laing (Jamaica-Quebec), Rita Cassidy (Florence), Paul Diedrick (New York), Tom Diedrick (Jamaica), Handel Diedrick (Jamaica), Roy Diedrick (Jamaica). Predeceased by her siblings Sybil Diedrick, and Cliff Diedrick. Joan & Don lived their golden years in Florida for fifteen plus years and enjoyed life. Joan loved gardening, flowers, and hummingbirds. She continued her love for birds at the Oneida Long Term Care home, she loved watching her feeders and watching Liam fill the feeders with his Papa for her to enjoy. A special thank you to all the nurses and staff at the Oneida Long Term Care Home for your care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer.
