Obituary of Gerald Francis "Buss" Brown

Brown, Gerald Francis “Buss” passed away peacefully with family by his side, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Thursday May 2, 2019 at the age of 93. Buss was born in Lansing, Michigan to the late Roy and Mary (Wallace) Brown but resided in the Dresden area for all his life. Devoted husband to the late Ethel (Anderson) Brown (2018) for 69 years. Buss and Ethel raised a beautiful family, which was the most important part of their lives. He was a loving father to Francis (Diane) Brown of Dresden, Douglas (Linda) Brown of Chatham, Dennis (Cheryl) Brown of Dresden and Darlene (Mark) McIntosh of Dresden. Proud grandfather to his 11 grandchildren Stephanie (Ray) Harper, Karen (Kent) Hamilton, Corinne (Dan) Jackson, Tim (Shawna) Brown, Lindsay Swayze, Steven (Jennie) Brown, Stacey (Brandon) Winegard, Ashley (Daniel) Ciccarelli, Nicole (Daniel) Boddez, Courtney McIntosh (Brett Fujii). Predeceased by granddaughter Krista (Victor) O’Leary. Buss is survived by 22 great grandchildren. Special brother and brother-in-law to June Smith ( late Stewart) , Pat Anderson (late Wilmer). Predeceased by a brother Ed Brown (late Edna), a sister Donna Deighton (late Laurie), a sister-in-law Hilda Wagner (late Jack), and a brother-in-law Lorne Anderson (late Shirley). Buss was a successful business owner and operator of Brown’s Esso since its opening in 1961. He had an incredible work ethic and determination to provide for his growing family. He loved the land his whole life and integrated his love for horses with the land he farmed. Buss enjoyed playing cards and listening to country music. Buss will be greatly missed by friends, family and the community of Dresden but we are thankful he is able to be reunited with the love of his life and dancing partner. The Brown family will receive friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North St., Dresden on Monday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 1 p.m. Interment in Dresden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or charity of your choice. Online donations and condolences may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com.
