Obituary of Allen J. Holmes

Holmes: Allen J., a resident of Dresden passed away peacefully at the C.K.H.A. Sydenham Campus, Wallaceburg on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the age of 89. Born in Dawn Mills, son of the late Bryan and Estella (Terhune) Holmes. Beloved husband of 62 years to Ida (Liberty) Holmes. Loving father and father-in-law of Catherine Cofell (David) of Blenheim, John Holmes (Diane) of Cambridge, and the late Jim Holmes and his wife Julie Thompson of McLeese Lake B.C.. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Jessica (Greg), Sarah (Dan), Melanie (Frank), Heather (Jeremy), Becky (Mike), Sue (Glen), Rob, Nicole (Brandon), Jamie (Brad), Ginni (Grant) and 10 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Leato Wetherald of B.C., Jean Law of Dresden, Gerald Holmes (Wilda) of Thamesville. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law Edna & Ed Avery, Thelma & Stewart Crysdale, Murray Wetherald, Allan Law and an infant twin. The Holmes family will receive friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North Street, Dresden on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Colin Paterson and Rev. Linda McFadden officiating. Interment in Blackburn Cemetery, Camden Township.
