  Sloan: Jean A. (Newport), formerly of Bothwell, passed away peacefully at Beattie Haven Retirement Home, Wardsville on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the age of 89. Born in Glencoe, daughter of the late Russell and Elva (Haggith) Newport. Beloved wife of the late William J. Sloan (2011). Loving mother of  Sharon Lehnert (Michael) of Bothwell, Yvonne & Ray Brioux (Jesse and Tom) of Toronto, Sandra & Gerry Demaiter (Sarah, Jeremy, Luke, and Zeb) of Thamesville, John & Sheila Sloan (Paula, Chris, Jill, Julie, Erin, and Shanica) of London, Bill & Connie Sloan (Shane, Dana, Breanne, and Megan) of Bothwell, Virginia Sloan of Bothwell. Survived by 20 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Grace Babcock and Verna Campbell. Also survived by sisters-in-law June, Dorothy, Maxine and Eva Newport. Predeceased by her brothers Duke, William, Lorne, and Harvey Newport ; brothers-in-law Keith Babcock and Ross Campbell. The Sloan family will receive friends at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, Bothwell on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 1:30pm with Rev. Steve Filyer officiating. Interment in Bothwell Cemetery .
