Mardling: John “Jack” a resident of Chatham passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the age of 92. Born in Harwich Township, son of the late Howard and Florence (Wooding) Mardling. Member of Louisville Baptist Church; Canadian Merchant Navy Association; RCNA (Royal Canadian Navy Association) and Branch 628 Royal Canadian Legion. John served his country under the Old Red Duster Flag (Merchant Navy). He was an employee of Ontario Steel (Arvin Meritor) for 38 years. Beloved husband of Iva (Arnold) Mardling. Loving father of Rosemary Mardling of Tilbury, Bonnie & Harold Deline of Oil City, Howard Mardling (J.C.) of Monkton, Wayne Mardling of Chatham, Arnold Mardling of Chatham. Proud grandpa of 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by grandson William Deline (1990); brother Glenn (1973) and his wife Blanche Mardling (1985) and sisters June (2004) and her husband Norman Couture (1986) and Bertha (2010) and her husband Martin Pepper (2000). The Mardling family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11a.m. Interment in Arnold Cemetery, Louisville. Donations may be made at the funeral home by cheque to the Salvation Army. Online donations and condolences may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com.
