Obituary of Oscar Vanroboys

At Oscar’s request a Private Visitation and Funeral Service will be held. Vanroboys – Oscar Camille, a resident of Thamesville, left this earth to meet his Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the age of 91. He was born in Saskatchewan, son of the late Renee and Margaret (Allemeersch) Vanroboys. Oscar farmed all of his life, loved horses, auction sales, farming magazines, trucks and his special TV shows. He worked hard all his life and was happiest on his farm near his trucks. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play hockey. He is now free from pain and will look down on us all as our special Angel. Oscar is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Marie Louise. She was his rock, best caregiver and love of his life. Loving father of Henry and Anne Vanroboys, Thamesville. Loving Papa to Carla and Kevin Fox, Steven and Gina Vanroboys, Jennifer and Joe Marsh, all from Thamesville. Special Old Papa to Megan, Dane, Trent, Lucas, Audra, Oscar, Lucy, Libby, Boone and Scout. Dear brother of Harry and Mary, Chatham, Shirley and Roy, Kent Bridge. Dear brother-in-law of Georgina Kestlyn, Romaine and Madeline Casier, Bill and Blanche Hembree, all from Chatham. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Julianna and Marcel Casier, brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Helen VanRoboys and brother-in-law, Gerard Kestlyn.. At Oscar’s request there will be private visitation and funeral service. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Thamesville.
