Hardy: Rev. Leslie J., formerly of Brigden, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the age of 101. Born in Percy Township, son of the late Nelson and Eleanor (Boyce) Hardy. Les was a United Church minister who thoroughly enjoyed life with his family and friends. He ministered in many communities over the years – Enterprise, Coe Hill, Bridgenorth, Courtright, Tupperville and Brigden, as well as being a supply for many other charges. Before receiving the call to become a minister, Les had many different occupations – teacher, farmer, grist mill owner & operator, factory worker. From 1943 to 1946, he served in the army. He was an avid gardener with a special love for his rose gardens. He curled for many years, and walked miles every day until very recently. Visiting with people was one of his favourite activities, and until her death, Les & Lillian were involved in many social activities. Les was a kind, gentle man with a great love for his family, friends, church and community, and will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched. Beloved husband of the late Lillian (Nelson) Hardy (2005). Loving father of  Paul Hardy (Sonya) of Sarnia, Marilyn Williams (Lee) of Sarnia, Nancy Elgie (Earl) of R.R.# 6 Dresden. Loving father-in-law of Bev Hardy of Barry’s Bay.  Sadly missed by grandchildren Christopher, Savannah, Jennifer, and David Hardy,  Jordan Williams, Ryan, Grant, Colin, and Parker Elgie; great-grandchildren Owen Elgie, Alexandra Hardy, Christian Hardy and a great-great-grandaughter Kathryn. Dear brother of 98 year old twins Ewart and Stewart Hardy of Warkworth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Murray Hardy (2009).
