Obituary of Russell Elliott

  Elliott: Russell C. formerly of Shetland, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 87. Born in Euphemia, son of the late Charles and Mary (Gray) Elliott. Russell was a veteran of World War II serving in the R.C.A.F. ,was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge # 196, Florence, and was Past Chairman of the Four Counties Hospital Board. He owned and operated Elliott Bros. Grain and Feed in Shetland for over 50 years.   Beloved husband of the late Mildred Fay (Leeson) Elliott (2008). Loving father of Robert and Bonita “Bonnie” Elliott and Catherine and Bob Osborne all of Shetland. Loving grandfather of Jennifer Elliott-Babula (Murray), Breanne Dawson (Edward), Russell Osborne (Nicole Rosseel) and Melissa Osborne (Matthew Sorrell). Proud great grandfather of Emma, Connor, Austin Babula and Elliott Dawson. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Alice Jean and Lloyd Wagner, Glenn and Norma Elliott, Maxine Elliott and Marian Elliott. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Tom Elliott, Donald Elliott and sister-in-law Dorien Elliott. The Elliott family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria Street, Thamesville on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 11am with Sharon Campbell-Rayment officiating. Interment in Shetland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made at the funeral home by cheque to the Shetland United Church or Four Counties Health Services Foundation.
