McDonald: V. Ruth a resident of R.R. #1 Thamesville passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham at the age of 77. Born in Ridgetown, daughter of the late George and Dora (Bennett) Sales and Mabel Sales (Step mother). Ruth owned and operated McDonald Holiday Travel until retiring after 39 years in the business. She was a life member of N.T.W.I. , A.C.W.W., U.C.W. Unit 2 and member of Thamesville Senior’s Club. Beloved wife of 55 years to Lyle McDonald. Loving mother of David McDonald (Jeanne)of Thamesville, Carl McDonald (Cheryl) of Wabash, Jeanette Corbin (Ray) of Chatham and Jim McDonald (Karen) of Mt. Brydges. Cherished grandma of Wesley, William, Emily, Brad, Kristi, Cole, Randel, Olivia, Adam and Owen. Dear sister of Dr. Jack Sales (Helen) of Grand Bend. Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Doreen McFadden (Max) of Dresden and brother-in-law Alan McDonald (Hazel) of Blenheim. Sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Grace McGugan (Russell) of Ottawa. The McDonald family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment in Mayhew-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville. Donations may be made at the funeral home by cheque to Dresden Foodbank or Thamesville Area Central School (Breakfast Program).
