Clarke: Therese Marie (Culnan): After a valiant battle, Therese passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the London Health Sciences Centre. Therese was born on December 11, 1931 in Thamesville, Ontario to the late Daniel and Marie Culnan. Dearly loved mother of Frank (2005), Dick of London, Marguerite (David 2009) of Brantford. Cherished by her grandchildren, Lyndsie (Brad), Lukas, Adam (2005) and Shannon. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Tom (Irene) of Toronto, Annie Cornell of Thamesville, and Don Shaw of Wallaceburg. Also remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Dutch, J.D., and Charlie Culnan; sisters Genevieve Doher and Margaret Shaw. Therese was co-owner of the Colonel Clarke Tavern on the Bruce Peninsula for many years. She also enjoyed a successful administrative career with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, where she worked until her retirement. She was an avid cook and traveller. She travelled throughout the world until illness prevented her from flying. In 2005 a European River Cruise with her daughter enabled her to visit her German roots and meet Bavarian family members that were located after a long internet search. A special thank you to Katrina and the staff at IV Therapy, CCAC, Linda, Gayle, Mary Ann, Theresa, and Shaquila who were always there to provide her with help and comfort. Therese was a generous, loving, and caring soul and we will miss her dearly. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 1:30pm. (with visiting one hour prior to the service). Interment Mayhew-Mt.Pleasant Cemetery Thamesville.
