Honouring tradition while respecting change
Obituary of Harry Russell Latimer
Harry Russell Latimer, son of the late Harry Orlie Latimer (1934) and Pearl (Guest) Latimer (1936) passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the age of 93. He was a resident of Fairfield Park Nursing Home, Wallaceburg. Harry previously lived and farmed on Mandaumin Rd in Sombra Township. Predeceased by wives Marjorie (Burley) 1989 and Ella Grace (Hetherington) 2009, brother Keith (1971) and sister-in-law Ina (Perry) 2019. He is survived by several nieces, nephews and step-children.
Harry spent 22 years as the treasurer of the Zion United Church in Tupperville. Harry was a farmer with the mind of an engineer. There seemed to be nothing he could not fix or change to meet his needs. Harry’s memories of the past and unique grasp of current events stayed strong until his final days. Harry had an inquisitive nature and was constantly learning. Harry traveled the continent by bus and car with a special interest in plowing matches and gun shows. Harry did not adapt to life, he adapted life to him. He had his own way of showing others he cared about them and his passing will leave a big hole in the Charlemont Community.
A private visitation will be held with interment in Dresden Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Zion United Church or the charity of your choice.
In Loving Memory
