Most of my memories of Gord were as a kid running around and bothering the Leader employees on a regular basis and later, working in the darkroom developing his photos. Gord was a kind soul and I was happy to see him after so many years at my father's (Gord Clauws) funeral. My deepest condolences for your loss.

We remember Gord: growing up on the home farm, school corner #8, the soft maples, Sharpe's Creek, fire flies around the creek, frogs singing in the spring, red and yellow sunsets, cedar rail fence, school days, Zion Central, Shapit rail siding, freight trains, a wave from the engineer, especially Beardmore the cat in the apple tree with Gord, Laddie - the black lab, the English cherry tree, haying in the mow, the W-6 tractor, the AC combine, itchy oats, wheat harvest, back in the granary - dusty job, rafting in the swamp, cowboy wall paper and the north bedroom, Christmas dinner at Gramma's, winter snow drifts, the school bus ride, the farm pond, Mom's polio, cleaning the water spring, Tom cat, the Country Weaver, Christmas Craft Shows, under the Christmas tree. Gord, I remember these well; all shared with you. Your brother, John.

Very sorry to hear of Gord’s passing. I first met Gord and his wife while volunteering for the Dresden Community Healthcare Foundation. He never showed up empty handed, and would have handfuls of items that he had collected for donations. Very passionate about his work. I was lucky to have met him.

John Hardy recently reminded me of an occasion where as kids, Gordon and myself went missing. We were later found hiding and devouring a bag of peanuts. We enjoyed having Gord as a friend. A kind and gentle man, he always made us feel that he enjoyed knowing us as well.
When Gord visited us in Toronto, we were minding two small dogs for friends. Gord had those dogs acting like cats immediately. One on his lap and one in his arms, looking up as he talked to them. This was particularly amazing as the dogs' "first language" was Spanish!
We are grateful for Tanya and Gord's friends in Dresden and the people of Lindsay Road United Church'
