Grandpa was a great man. He always put others before himself, and always took the time to show others appreciation and respect. Grandpa was well know in the Wabash, Dresden and Rutherford community because he always took the time to share his knowledge and kindness with others. I am so glad that I got to see you one last time to tell you that you helped me become the man I am today. You were like a mentor to me, I always listened and took your advice. I miss you everyday. Shirley, our hearts go out to you in this hardest of losses. And to you, Gerry, Donna, Bill and Dan, please all accept our kindest condolences and convey them to your families. I love you grandpa, he would always let us sit on his knee even if it was hurting that day and tell us a story. Or show us a new magic trick he leart. Hugs and kisses were always welcome. It was a great opportunity too work with Don and being a neighbour for many years. There was never a dull moment. He made you laugh no matter were you seen him. I am so sad to hear this. I have such cherished memories of Uncle Don. When I was a kid, I spent a lot of time at the store in Wabash and he always snuck me candy. On family birthdays, we used to go to the race track and he would give me $2 and teach me how to bet on the horses. He always made time for me and always made me laugh. My grandma used to love to travel and go to plays with Don & Shirley. I am sending so much love to Shirley and the entire family. I hope Uncle Don is with Grandma now and the rest of his family.
