Obituary of Dennis Smith

Smith : Dennis Wayne of Bothwell passed away peacefully at Four Counties Hospital on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the age of 66. Born in Chatham, son of the late Garnet and Audrey (Graves) Smith. Beloved husband and devoted partner for 47+ years of Faye Smith. Loving father of Cory Smith of London, Troy Smith & Kristen Johnston of Newbury, and Amanda Smith of London. Loving Papa to Brody Smith, Colby Smith, and Chloe Smith.  Sorrowfully missed by fur babies Sophie and Molly May. Dearest brother and brother-in-law of Richard Smith (Louise) of Sudbury, Tom Lunn of Cairo, Joe Smith (Judy) of Chatham, and Brad Smith (Susan) of Ridgetown. Survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Predeceased by sister Gail Lunn (2018), and nephew Jeoffrey Smith (1988). Dennis was a hardworking lifelong employee in the fuel industry for over 40 years. He was employed by Waddick Fuels and was dedicated to serving daily customer needs. Dennis was truly dedicated to the local communities through the Thamesville Sertoma Club as a Life Member for 38 years, as Sertoma Ontario District Governor for 4 years; as well as with the Bothwell Optimist Club for 29 years, serving each organization to his fullest without any hesitation. He was an exceptional community volunteer and outstanding leader; continuously putting others before himself. He truly loved his Sertoma and Optimist families, and treasured this special fellowship bond. Cremation has taken place and a gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, desired donations (by cheque) may be directed to the Thamesville Sertoma Club or the Bothwell Optimist Club and would be appreciated.
