In September of 1958, Mrs. McGuire arrived at SS # 8, Simpson School located on what is now Courtright Line to become my much loved Grade 7 & 8 teacher. My dad, Melvin Walker, grew up in the Oakdale area and so knew the Butler family. As maternity leave was unknown then, Mary Louise Butler filled in for her when she had a baby. Mrs. McGuire cemented my desire to become a teacher and Morley also make bird houses with my grade 4/5 class at Euphemia Central. When we moved to the Cambridge area over ten years ago, we took one of the bluebird boxes with us and I am often reminded of the Helen and Morley as we have bluebirds nesting in our box each spring.
Cherish the many memories of a much loved mother, teacher and community member.
