Hopkins: Curtis K. a resident of Alma, Michigan, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Gratiot Medical Center. He was born on February 26, 1957 in Dearborn MI., son of Georgina Stonefish-Hopkins of Seattle, WA. and the late Samuel Hopkins. He married Rhonda Fox on October 26, 1993. Curtis was a cultural teacher at the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Academy and was a very big advocate for promoting cultural identity and helped with the Northern Ontario Medical School and the Kumic Elders Lodge in Ottawa Ontario. He also volunteeredat the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Curtis is survived by his wife Rhonda Hopkins; chidren Amanda Hopkins of Sarnia, Elliott Doxtater-Wynn of Thunder Bay, Sarah Doxtater of Toronto, Lauren Doxtater of Sault Ste.Marie, ON., Kateri Hopkins of Ludington, MI; grandchildren Hannah, Haileigh, Haven, Darius, Maelyn, Colton, and Selena; brothers Michael, Bradley, Jerry, and Christopher Hopkins and sisters Valerie and Janine Hopkins. Predeceased by a son Curtis Hokins Jr.. Friends and family will be received at the home of Bradley Hopkins 14630 Schoolhouse Line, Moraviantown, (Delaware Nation) on Wednesday April 13, 2011. The funeral service will be held at the Delaware Nation Community Centre, Moraviantown on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 11:00am. Interment Moraviantown Cemetery.
