The Carlyle family (Burn, Betty, Becky, Kelly) would like to extend our deepest sympathy to John’s family. As a fellow employee of MTO for forty years or so, it was a great pleasure to work along side of him. His tireless effort to get the job done, and done right, was so much appreciated. He was extremely devoted to family but their sorrow now must be tempered by their pride in him. John was a partner in The Highwaymen stable for twenty years and I know he treasured those days. We once had a horse named ‘Basic Speed’ and one time the bureaucrats at MTO demanded each of us put every crew member’s name on our expense account. John thought that was an unecessary waste of time so he put ‘B. Speed’ as being on the crew. The office spent weeks trying to figure out who ‘B Speed’ was. So many stories; so many good times. This is a time to rejoice and celebrate John’s life. God speed old buddy.

Sorry to hear of John passing. My condolences to his family in this trying time. I go back to public school days with John and running into each other through our working careers every so often. Memories are so important in times of grieving.
