Obituary of Peter Klassen

Peter Harms Klassen, born July 5, 1956 to Peter and Margaretha Klassen from Cuahtemoc, Chihuahua. His youth years were spent in Mexico, or travelling between Mexico and USA. He was baptized in the Old Colony Church in 1977 by Bishop Heinrich Dyck in Cuahtemoc, Chihuahua. Peter married Katharina Knelsen on November 4, 1978. Born to Peter and Katharina were 7 children 3 of which are deceased. Most of their married life they travelled up and down from Mexico to Canada. In 2012 they decided to make Ontario, Canada their home.  In 2020 he started having health issues where he started seeking medical care. Peter was on consistent oxygen for the last 6 months. Peter had an episode on April 28, 2023 at 3:30 a.m. where his breathing became very heavy and he took his last breath at 10:30 a.m. He had struggled with lung disease for the last 5 years. Peter leaves behind his wife Katharina of 45 years, 4 children with their spouses and 11 grandchildren.

The Klassen family will receive friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the Reinland Fellowship Mennonite Church, 21371 Coatsworth Rd., Coatsworth on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in Stewart Cemetery, Tilbury.
