Obituary of Toni Cajka
Amalia "Toni" (Bobkova) Cajka, a resident of Park Street Place Retirement Residence, Dresden and formerly of Tupperville, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the age of 100. Wife of the late Charles Cajka (1997). Survived by her son Allan Cajka (Elaine); granddaughter Katie Hergott (Matt); great grandchildren Alex and Emma Hergott; sister-in-law Anne Chapman (Ed) and relatives in Czechoslovakia. Predeceased by brother-in-law Joseph Cajka, her parents and siblings in Czechoslovakia. After arriving in Canada in 1938, Toni worked as a seamstress at the Chatham Path Factory. She later came to Dresden to work at the dry cleaners where she found the love of her life. After marrying Charlie she worked by his side on the farm. She was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Women's League and the Hillbilly Band. Toni enjoyed baking, especially making her famous cream rolls which were a family favourite. She also loved to sew, crochet, quilt and play cards at the senior centre. The Cajka family will receive family and friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre 679 North St, Dresden on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Dresden Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. V. Chawla, staff and residences at Park Street Place for their care, compassion and friendships made since Toni moved there 3 years ago.
