Obituary of Fran Kominek

Fran Kominek, formerly of Dresden, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 89. Born in Chtelnica, Slovakia, the daughter of the late John and Justina (Basnak) Sojak. Fran was a proud farmer's wife and worked alongside Stan on the farm. She loved bowling, dancing, watching baseball, and when she was younger was an avid ball player with her family. Most of all she enjoyed time with her grandchildren. Fran had a strong faith and was a member of St. Michael's Church, Dresden as well as past president of the CWL. Beloved wife of 67 years to Stanley Kominek. Loving mother of Susanne Anderson (Brett), Allen Kominek (Marion) and Bill Kominek (Janice). Proud grandma of Michelle, the late Christine, Cindy, Keith, Ken, Alicia, Brandon, Daniel, Adam and great grandchildren Adrien, Andre, Evolina, Bailey, Brook, Emma, Abigail, Ava, Nathan, Isabel, Owen, Olivia and Reese. Dear sister of Jerry Sojak (Jean). Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law Bessie Kominek (Frank), Patricia Cikatricis (Joe), Mary Dinga (Steve), Martha Kovar (Al), Agnes Sojak; brothers and sisters-in-law Louis Sojak (Martha Kys), Joe Sojak (Bonnie), Milan Sojak (Geraldine), John Sojak (Mary), Stanley Sojak and daughter-in-law Mary Kominek. Family and friends will be received at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre 679 North St, Dresden on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. with CWL Prayers at 4:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Dresden on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. Interment in Dresden Cemetery.
