Obituary of Andy Forget

Forget: Adrian Joseph  "Andy" passed away peacefully at the Village on the Thames on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at the age of 92. Born in Penetanguishene ON., son of the Late Wilfrid and Marie (Lalonde) Forget. Andy married his sweetheart  the late Barbara (Cudney) Forget (2017) and they shared many adventures together for 63 years. Loving father of Allan Forget (Marek Czuma), Gary Forget (Grace), Cheryl Newkirk (Steve), Sandra Wullms (Ken), Monica Forget (Sandy Hale), Michele Kernan (Late Paul), Mary Beth Forget (John McMillan). Andy will be sadly missed by 19 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Bernard Forget (June), Mary Sue Turner (Wayne), Edna Cudney (Late Jim). Predeceased by 1 brother and 6 sisters. Growing up in Midland, Ontario, Andy served as an alter server at the Martyr's Shrine until he left to attend St. Patrick’s College in Ottawa. He moved to Chatham at the age of 19, to work for International Harvester. Andy and Barb lived in Dresden where he coached minor hockey, supported the local teams, and always cheered for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Andy spent his retirement years visiting family, helping neighbours, repairing bicycles, reading, and playing cards. His sparkling blue eyes and his wry wit will be missed. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 698 Tecumseh St. Dresden on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 1:30 PM. Interment Dresden Cemetery. The family will greet friends and family at the luncheon that will be held at the Badder Funeral Home Reception Centre following the committal service.
