Obituary of Peter Andre Verstraete
Peter Andre Verstraete, a resident of Thamesville, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury at the age of 60. Born in Chatham, the son of the late Andre and Lena (VanDaele) Verstraete. You could find him sitting at a cattle show with a cold beverage in hand, proudly watching his children show. Peter was a past director and treasurer of the Kent Cattleman's Association and former leader of the Kent 4-H Beef Club. He enjoyed archery and darts at the Bothwell Legion. Beloved husband of 28 years to Carol Verstraete (Manning). Loving father of Maurice Verstraete (Rachel) and Kelly Verstraete (Justice). Dear brother and brother-in-law of Rose Haines, Brenda Burke-VanEvery (John) Doug Manning (Dawn), June Nussey (Keith) and Mary Manning. Beloved Grandpaw to Penny, Rooster, Kane and many other four legged farm animals. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Cremation has taken place. The Verstraete family will receive family and friends at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home 211 Elm St., Bothwell on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 PM. and 6:00-8:00 PM. The memorial service will be held from the funeral home on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Interment of cremains in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Bothwell. If desired, donations may be made by cheque to FCHS Foundation, Newbury, Royal Canadian Legion Br. 335, Highgate or Highgate District Agricultural Society.
