My father, Norman Elley, was Garnet's cousin on his mother's side, Alice Elley (nee Case). He spoke fondly of spending childhood summer vacations at Uncle George and Aunt Helen's farm with his cousin Garnet. (Norman passed away in April 2014 at the age of 94.) I remember Dad driving our family from Hamilton to Thamesville a few times to visit the Case farm, and other family members in the area. I am thankful for the memories.
Deepest sympathy to those who knew, and were close to Garnet.

As part of our family, Garnet will truly be missed. There is now only two cousins of this generation left, one of them being a first cousin Wilfred Shepherd who helped you in many different ways. Thoughts and prayers to those who feel the pain of his loss.

I have several fond memories of time spent at my grandmother's house, Verlyn Neville, with Garnet. They got together often. She loved him so much. I will never forget his laugh. We had great times together as a family. My thoughts and prayers are with Garnet's family and friends.

My sincere condolences go out to Garnets family and friends. I had the privilege of meeting this kind humble man when he was feeling his worst. Even at his sickest Garnet still liked talking about farming and reminiscing about his farming days would bring a smile to his face. My deepest sympathy goes out to his good friend Lynn who faithfully came to see Garnet, your visits and your support definitely brightened his days,

I met Garnet many years ago when my parents visited his parents on the farm. My mother is Verna Sayer (nee Elley), daughter of Alice Elley (Case), Garnet's father's sister. I don't believe there are many of the original family left, but I express my condolences to any family and friends of Garnet who may be out there. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to read of Garnet's death this morning. I use to deliver his mail many years ago and see him at community things when I was a kid.
