Vanpraet: Debbie M. , a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the age of 53. Born in Chatham, Beloved daughter of Pierre and Georgette (Coeman) Vanpraet. Debbie is also survived by her sister Rose Duquette (Dave), Nancy Schram (John), a brother Richard Vanpraet (Kristin); nieces and nephews Tanya Duquette, Tristan Duquette (Jennifer), Brittany and Amanda Schram,; great-nephew Hayden Duquette- Vanderhoeff, her fur baby Sophie; Aunt and Uncle Mary and Martin Kowanetz and several cousins. At Debbie's request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 9 Alice St., Thamesville on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00AM. If desired donations to the London Health Sciences Foundation (Pulmonary Hypertension Research), University of Toronto Faculty of Pharmacy, or the Chatham-Kent O.S.P.C.A. would be appreciated. Pete and Georgette, Rosie, Nancy, and Richard;
How strange it seems, even writing this short message, not to be able to insert Debbie's name right after Nancy's. I have so many happy childhood memories of the fun that I shared with Debbie for so many years. We had some crazy escapades and I wouldn't trade growing up with the VanPraet kids for anything in the world. My prayer for you is that the love of God will give you faith, the support of family and friends will give you hope, and the memories of Debbie that you cherish will sustain you through all of the dark days ahead. It is with sad heart we send our prayers and condolences to the family. Deb was such a trooper to withstand the last few years of her journey and will be so missed by all who knew her. We have watched her grow from a very young bubbly child to a beautiful young lady and will always remember her hanging on our porch waiting for the kids to finish supper and come out to play. May past memories help to erase the pain and grief and console each one of you....Love like a beautiful song lives on in the heart when the last note is silent. God bless all of you. To the whole family, I would like extend my deepest sympathy over the loss of Debbie. I have many memories of her in our younger days as we lived next door to each other and attended elementary school together. This was a shock.
