Sevcik: Mary Louise (Deswaef), a resident of Dresden, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Park Street Place, Dresden on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the age of 83. Born in Chicago, U.S.A., daughter of the late Leopold and Emile (Demeester) Deswaef. Mary was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Dresden and the C.W.L. For many years she farmed with her husband Meroll at R.R.#6 Dresden until his passing 1991. She always enjoyed travelling and attending prayer meetings. Beloved wife of the late Meroll Sevcik (1991). Loving mother of Darlene and Joe Carpenter of Guelph, and Gerald "Jerry" Sevcik of Dresden. Loving Grandma to Scott and Sheena and Eric and Lesley and Great-Grandma to Cadha and Brianna. Dear sister and sister-in-law to Jeanette Pake, Jackie Smith, John and Elaine Deswaef, and Jennie Kopal. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Neville Deswaef, brothers-in-law Sam Pake, Jack Smith, John Kucera, Paul Kopal and sisters-in-law Marilyn Deswaef and Mary Kucera. The Sevcik family will receive friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North St., Dresden on Sunday from 2- 4pm and 7-9pm. Prayers will be held at 3:45pm immediately followed by C.W.L. Prayers. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Dresden on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11am with Fr. Ray Lawhead as Celebrant. Interment in Dresden Cemetery. A Special thank-you to all the staff, volunteers, and residents for their exceptional care and kindness while mom was at Park Street Place. If desired, donations may be made at the funeral home (by cheque) to Park St. Place, Dresden or Meals on Wheels would be appreciated by the family.
