Obituary of Frederick Dexter Fansher

Fansher: Frederick "Fred", formerly of Shetland, passed away peacefully at Westmount Gardens, London on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the age of 91. Born in Euphemia Twp., Lambton County, on may 14, 1925, his parents Meda (Walker) and Burt Fansher. He was educated at SS#4 Euphemia and Florence Continuation School. In 1958 he accepted total responsibility for operating the farm lands, previously tended by four generations of the Fansher name. Fred was always involved in Church life and carried these guidlines with him all his life. In his youth he was to display leadership qualities in programs of the Church, 4 H Clubs, and Junior Farmers of Ontario. He was always interested in history and geneology. Fred met his wife Helen through Jr. Farmers when they both served on the provincial executive. They were married September 27, 1958 and were the proud parents of Wende Fansher of Kitchener and Gordon Fansher (Jan Hurlbut) of London. Fred was the much admired grandfather "Papa" of Matthew, Chloe and Dexter Fansher. Dear brother of Mary Louise Stuart (late Virgil), Lucy Ann Brien (Harry). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by his twin brother John Fansher (2007) and sister-in-law Louise Fansher (1988). The Fansher family will receive friends at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, 211 Elm St., Bothwell on Friday from 2:00- 4:00PM and 7:00 – 9:00PM. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00PM. Interment Fansher Cemetery, Euphemia Twp. If desired donations by cheque to the Faith Trinity United Church, or the Dawn-Euphemia Community Centre would be appreciated by the family.
