Deacon: Marion (Simmons), a resident of Dresden, passed away peacefully at Meadow Park Nursing Home, Chatham on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the age of 90. Born in Galt, Ontario, daughter of the late Sydney and Janet (Porter) Simmons. Beloved wife of the late George Deacon (2006). Loving mother of David and his wife Rhonda Deacon of Dresden. Marion is survived by her grandchildren Derek, Darren (Elleree)and Darcy Deacon; great-grandchildren Connor Allen, Ryan and Olivia Deacon, Serena Doig and (Mike Classen), Noni Doig, Taleah Doig (Ben Harris); great-great grandchildren Emry and Maude Classen. Dear sister of Marjorie Eltervoog. Sadly missed by sisters-in-law Dolly Simmons and Winnifred Unsworth. Predeceased by her son Frederick Deacon (1973), grand-daughter-in-law Stacey Deacon (2015); sisters Mae Newell (Ivan), Catherine Morley (Bert), Jean Ross (Andrew), Dorothy Phair, Ruth Pegg (Doug); brothers Sydney Simmons and Jim Simmons (Tillie); and brothers-in-law Carl Eltervoog and Ray Unsworth. A Graveside Service will be held at Dresden Cemetery on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM. If desired donations to the Make a Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and donations may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, Dresden.

We grieve with you in the loss of mom and grandmother. A swell lady, from a passing age. Always enjoyed her presence in the moment. I pray blessing on the family and personally close friends during this time, Miss Marion Humor A cowboy rode into town on Thursday, Stayed 3 days and rode out on Thursday. How is this possible? Answer: His horse's name was Thursday!!!!

Marion was such a lovely kind woman. My girls have so many fond memories of visits to her house. Julia remembers helping her feed the birds and the squirrels in her backyard. Morgan would often suggest a visit to Aunt Marion just to hang out with her for a few hours. They loved her ❤️ Our deepest sympathies Beth, Morgan and Julia
