Jackson: Allan James, a lifelong resident of R.R. #3 Tupperville, passed away suddenly with his family by his side at the C.K.H.A Sydenham Campus, Wallaceburg on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Joan (Van Dijk) Jackson for 38 years. Cherished father of Erin & Rob deNijs and Karla Jackson of Tupperville. Loved Opa J to Lucas, Emma and Peyton deNijs. Devoted son-in-law to Suzanne Van Dijk of Ridgetown. Predeceased by his parents John (2003) and Doris (2007) Jackson, father-in-law Joe Van Dijk (2016), brother Wayne Jackson (2006), sister-in-law Deb Van Dijk (2008) and son-in-law Greg Butler (2002). Brother and brother- in-law to Dianne Jackson of Dresden, Dennis and Sharon Jackson of Tupperville, Brian and Deb Jackson of Tupperville, Carol and Darryl Holmes of Wabash, Marinus and Carolyn Van Dijk of Picton, Janice Van Dijk of Kingston, Mary and Steve Hajpel of Ilderton, and Adrian Van Dijk and fiance Sylvia Faas of Blenheim. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and many friends. He had a zest for life, and a love for the beach especially in St. Maartens. His family was his pride and joy and he was an instant friend to anyone he met. Allan had a knack for history and was a wealth of knowledge, sometimes useless. He was a Graduate of The Advanced Ag Leadership Program Class 5 (1995) and Past Chairman of the Seed Corn Grower Board and Director for many years. The Jackson family will receive friends at the Badder Funeral Home, 679 North St. Dresden on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 4 p.m. -9 p.m. A celebration of Allan's life will be held at the Badder Funeral Home on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 1 p.m. A Private family burial will follow at Blackburn Cemetery, Camden Township. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. Online donations and condolences may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com.

Dear, Joan, Karla, Erin and all of the Jackson family.
I wanted to extend my sincere condolences and sorrow for your loss.
I had the very fortunate opportunity to get to know Al through AGRIS Tupperville in the short time that I have worked here. Right away Al welcomed me as a new addition to the team in Tupperville and I had hoped that we would get to work together. I viewed Al as much more than a customer, but a friend and wealth of knowledge and experience that I could draw from in my role here. It was always a pleasure to have Al in my office. First we would get business taken care of, then it was always conversations about life and the places he traveled, the boards he sat on, and the different experiences he had.
I certainly feel blessed that Al liked to drink the coffee in Tupperville! I hope you all find happiness in the mark Al left on many people's lives. I will always remember his heart warming smile, and easy going attitude.

I have played back several times (in my mind) the conversation Allan and I had this past summer. He knew my dad so well and it was so wonderful hearing Allan reminisce about farm conversation with my dad. I loved knowing Allan knew my dad so well. I am so sad to know Allan has been taken from you and your family while so very young and full of life. I could tell Allan was a kind and compassionate man in the few conversations we had. Mostly I remember the twinkle in his eye – he loved fun, he loved life, he loved people! Thanks A.J. Even dark days are sunny when I think of you.

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of Allan's family. There's such a sense of helplessness when someone we love dies. I'd like to share some scriptural thoughts that really helps me. Prayer is so valuable at this time but it's not that prayer simply makes us feel better. 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, "... power beyond what is normal ", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. The reason we recover is because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, "... all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out ". Jesus was referring to the resurrection, this is our hope. 2 Cor.1:3 describes our Creator as, "... the God of all comfort ". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort (Ps.83:18) be your comfort now during this time of sorrow.
